OUR PRIVACY POLICY
Privacy
of personal information is an important principle to The Sycamore
Project. We fully comply with all legislative and policy requirements
concerning matters of privacy.
The following documents describe our privacy policies:
WHAT IS PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Personal
information is information about an identifiable individual. This
includes information that relates to one’s personal characteristics
(e.g. gender, age, income, home address or phone number, ethnic
background, family status), one’s health (e.g., health history, health
conditions, health services received) or their activities and view
(e.g., religion, politics, opinions expressed by an individual, an
opinion or evaluation of an individual). Personal information is to be
contrasted with business information (e.g., an individual’s business
address and telephone number), which is not protected by privacy
legislation.
WHO ARE WE
The
Sycamore Project is a joint venture being under-taken by Fr. Greg
Zubacz, Melita Mudri-Zubacz, and Suzette Phillips in response to the
needs of seminaries, seminarians, rectors, and clergy regarding human
formation, seminary, and clergy issues. On a consultative basis, Greg,
Melita, and Suzette provide support in the spiritual, human, pastoral
and professional formation of Christian Church leaders of both East and
West. They also provide support and training to lay leaders.
We
do use a number of consultants and agencies that may, in the course of
their duties, have limited access to personal information that we hold.
These include computer consultants, bookkeepers and accountants, and
lawyers. We restrict their access to any personal information we hold
as much as is reasonably possible. We also have their assurance that
they follow appropriate privacy principles.
